报告人:张锐  美国斯坦福大学博士后
报告人简介:
Rui Zhang is a postdoc at Stanford, studying the function and evolution of RNA editing. He completed his PhD at Kunming Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009 with Dr. Bing Su, investigating the miRNA-mediated gene regulation. Before moving to Stanford, he worked at Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory with Stephen Cohen and Beijing Institute of Genomics with Chung-I Wu, studying the miRNA targeting evolution.

报告内容:
Adenosine-to-inosine RNA editing, catalysed by adenosine deaminases acting on RNA (ADAR), promotes functional diversity and is especially prevalent in neural tissues. A large number of editing sites in human has been recently identified. However, a comprehensive search for new editing sites in different species is still lacking; in addition, to what extent individual editing sites are functionally important is largely unknown. I will present here my efforts to develop a series of high-throughput approaches to identify and quantify editing events, and dissect the regulation and function of individual editing events. 时间:2014年6月27日 (星期五)下午:15:00-17:00地点:生科院二楼会议室欢迎全院师生参加!
