报告人简历:Dr. Ying Zhang got her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences Specialized in Computational Biology at Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute, La Jolla, CA in 2011, and served as assistant professor in the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology, College of the Environment and Life Sciences, University of  Rhode Island from 2013 to 2015. Till now, She has published many original articles and reviews (including PLoS Computational Biology, Journal of Proteome Research, Proc. Natl, Acad. Sci. USA). Her group is interested in Microbial evolution and adaptation, genome annotation and comparative genomics, Genome- and Metagenome-scale reconstruction and simulation of cellular networks, Integrated study of microbial communities using “-Omics” data, Microbial symbiosis in marine invertebrates.
报告摘要: Microorganisms are significant players on the Earth. The advance of high-throughput molecular technologies has enabled the identification and functional classification of microorganisms. However, a systems-level understanding of the function and evolution of microbial life can only be reached through the construction of genome-scale models combining knowledge from multiple disciplines. This talk will present procedures for the integrated modeling that combines comparative genomics, structural biology, and systems biology. Examples will be given to demonstrate the application of such models for studying the metabolism and evolution of microorganisms from a variety of marine and host-associated environments.
